Costa Rica One Day Tour Description
The Green Expedition
Sarapiqui River
Poas Volcano
Braulio Carrillo National Park
(Full day)
From Alajuela, we head
towards Poas Volcano in a steady climb through coffee plantations,
strawberry fields and ornamental greenhouses.
At the top of the 9000-foot volcano, nestled in cloud forest, the
breathtaking scenery offers an opportunity to admire nature's majestic
power. We then proceed to the beautiful waterfalls of La Paz and San
Fernando, on our way to Sarapiqui where we will enjoy a delicious lunch
in a rain forest.
We
then take a boat tour on the Sarapiqui River, where you can see
crocodiles,
Caymans,
toucans, howler monkeys and bats, among other exotic flora and fauna.
On
our way back, we will drive through the impressive Braulio Carrillo
National Park,
Costa
Rica's number one rain forest, in some of the most rugged terrain in our
country.
This
park is a mostly high mountain heavily carpeted with thick, living
forest and rushing streams carving myriad waterfalls in the steep
canyons. This landscape is ideal for admiring the beauty of nature while
relaxing on our way back, after a truly unforgettable day.
Even
though it appears to be too much for one day, the tour is realized in
such a way that it can be fully enjoyed.
