Day 01:   Morning hotel pick up by our bilingual driver/guide who will be explaining all we will be seeing as we journey from your hotel to the mystic and exotic setting of the Monteverde Cloud Forest. Here you will find that the resplendent Quetzal, the unique Golden Toad and a tremendous array of many rarely recognized endangered species such as Baird's tapir and jaguars, call the forest home. The forest stretches from the lush ferns and mosses that cover from the ground up to the darkest canopy formed by the tallest trees. Arriving in Monteverde about midday; and on time for a very delicious lunch, you will have time to settle in your hotel. In the afternoon there will be a visit the cheese factory, operated by Quakers. In the early evening we will present a very entertaining slide show which we hope will describe better the rich history that forms the basis for this lovely area and it's many wonders. Heliconia Hotel (standard) or Sapo Dorado (deluxe).
Lunch and Dinner Included

Day 02:   Monteverde Cloud Forest. 7 a.m. breakfast. During the day visit the Monteverde Cloud Forest for a guided walk along the paths of this unique and world famous reserve. Observe slots, golden toads, and an infinite variety of ferns, trees, broad leaf plants, orchids, and other tropical flora in this rare, unequaled Central American region of over 4,000 acres of virgin cloud forest.
A visit will be made to the Cheese Factory. Bring binoculars and walking shoes.
Lunch at the Hotel, free time to enjoy the beautiful view, walk or just rest.
Heliconia Hotel (standard) or Sapo Dorado (deluxe).

Day 03:   Departure after breakfast; try the "Gallo Pinto", and bound for Bevedero Palo Verde river cruise tour in the Guanacaste dry forest. Located in Guanacaste Province, between the Bevedero and Tempisque Rivers, approximately 30km west of Canas. This national Park is made up of mosaic of diverse flood-plain habitats, bordered by Rivers and a ridge of limestone hills. These habitats include salt and fresh water lakes and swamps, grasslands with black mangroves, mangrove swamps, pastures, lowland stunted forests, wooded savannas and evergreen forests. Palo Verde's natural water system has created an environment capable of supporting one of the largest concentrations of waterfowl and wading birds, both native and migratory, in the country and in fact, in all of Central American. You naturalist guide will point of the differences between a cloud forest and this super example of dry forest. In the late afternoon we will journey to the Eco-Lodge (Standard) or Tabacon Hotel (deluxe) for overnight.

Day 04:  After breakfast you will explore the cloud forest private reserve, take a hiking tour on one of the many trails on this reserve, being able to see the exceptional flora and fauna. Due to its geographic location, this is the habitat for many migratory birds which make their stop to nourish themselves, rest and spend several weeks per year in this region. Additionally there are numerous resident birds. Enjoy the lush vegetation, formed by epiphytes which covers the centenarian trees, hundred of species of orchids, bromeliads, ferns, helicons and many other plants. Lunch at Eco Lodge. In the afternoon you will visit the relaxing and rejuvenating waters of "Tabacon" Hot Springs and the Arenal Volcano. Just looking at the spectacular scenery the crystal clear mineral water of steaming Tabacon River winding through lush tropical forest at the base of awesome Arenal Volcano. You will be able to see the lava coming down, feel the continues eruptions of this colossus volcano, enjoying and unforgettable experience. Dinner and overnight at Eco-Lodge (Standard) or Tabacon Hotel (deluxe) for overnight.

 Day 05:  After breakfast you can explore more of the Cloud Forest or enjoy the different attractions or activities offered at The Eco Lodge, like horse back riding, canoeing, mountain biking , etc. or just relax and enjoy the sounds and colors of nature. In the afternoon on our way back to San Jose, we will visit the artisan town of Sarchi, the capital of handicraft in Costa Rica.
