How do I get there?
Marenco is located in a road less area in the southern Pacific region of Costa Rica on the Osa Peninsula. Access to Marenco is by boat, and boat departures are conducted from the Ecomanglares Lodges' dock near the town of Sierpe. Generally, the Marenco San Jose office in the capital coordinates all the round trip transportation from your San Jose hotel, to Marenco, and back to San Jose. There are daily flights from San Jose to Palmar Sur-the Palmar Sur Airport is located half an hour vans ride to the Ecomanglares Lodge in Sierpe for your boat departure. Boats depart at noon and guests are expected to be at Ecomanglares Lodge by 11:00 am. Flight time is approximately 30-40 minutes and all flights depart San Jose only once in the morning either from the Juan Santamaria International Airport where Sansa Airlines operate, or from the smaller Pavas International Airport where Travel Air Airlines operates. Marenco contracts with both of these airlines and also with private charters depending on space availability. Luggage weight on these flights is limited to 25 lbs per person. Most hotels will store luggage for you, or Marenco's San Jose office can help. Be warned that the airlines do weigh baggage and will not board passengers with excess weight. Marenco will not be responsible for any additional costs that this may incur.
