The Hotel features 16 rooms, each named after an angel, richly decorated with colonial and Asian details, and equipped with all modern commodities: Air conditioning and ceiling fans, DVD and Direct TV, Wireless Internet access, Mini bar, safe, hairdryer, room service…all with astonishing ocean and jungle view from their terraces or balconies.

FACILITIES

The Palapa, the central building of this unique hotel, was designed as an area of homage to local ancestors. Its architectural design was based on the “Boruca” traditional ceremonial dwelling, a symbolic expression of this Costa Rican indigenous culture. Its circular shape generates an idea of center projected energy towards the sky through the conic roof. The symbolic codes are mainly social and religious with universal elements, which means that many ethnics around the world have similar concepts.
  Its eight columns where placed reminding the original ritual of our native ancestors, who used the sunrise and sunset as points of reference. The center of the first level has a mosaic that represents the Cosmic Levels of the local cultures:  Earth, Sky, Moon and Sun. All around this circular space, our creative Chef will pamper all your senses in our restaurant. Come for gourmet dining with a selected choice of wines and awesome views. Good energy flows all over.

The lobby was designed in two levels, so our visitors can get inspired by the stunning ocean view, while they feel among the clouds and in Heaven, drinking one of our  cocktail creations, choosing a souvenir or a fine jewel in the boutique. Its decoration includes many, many details, such as the dome in optic fiber with the constellation of August 8th 2005 of our local sky, the date when most stars and the brightest ones could be seen, a magical experience.

The hotel offer the facilities for disabled people.

The cabins were built facing the ocean with the jungle river at your back door. There is excellent swimming and kayaking just steps from your cabin, as well as many hiking trails ranging from easy to challenging, and miles of beaches for jogging. Drake Bay Resort, the first hotel at Drake Bay was built by owners Marleny and Herbert. They have operated the hotel continously for 14 years. The river allows easy boat landing at the dock rather than a beach landing.

Meals are including in the package plan, and tourist give an "excellent" evaluation of food. Meals include "fresh fish, meats, fresh fruitand vegetables, home made bread, hot rolls, soups and salads, and special home made desserts. Vegetarian and special diets can be accomodated. There are free snacks at the bar before dinner, and picnic lunches include the famous Drake Bay chocolate chip cookies.
