There are a few companies that operate out of
Tamarindo Beach for excusions into deep water. Most captains have up to 20
years of experience in waters that are now renown for world class sportfishing.
You can catch large Marlin (blue, blacked or stripped), Tuna or (bigeye or
yellowfin), Roosterfish, Grouper, Amberjack, Rainbow Runer, Snappers and sailfish
in vessels from 22-36 feet long. There are even some locals who will take
you out in a 'small' boat and then cook up the catch for you!
( ask for 'Pedro!). Most boats are now equipped with radio, depth sounder,
outriggers, shade, safety gear and of course-the top of the line in tackle.
