EcoLodge San Luis - Car Directions From San Jose
Take the Panamerican Highway from San Jose west past the airport, Alajuela, San Ramon, Esparza, and then north past Puntarenas until you reach the Lagartos turnoff immediately before the bridge over the Rio Lagartos.

Turn right at Lagartos and begin the climb into the mountains toward Monteverde. Follow all signs toward Monteverde or Santa Elena until you reach an orange painted kiosk or covered busstop at the entrance to the San Luis Valley around 12 km before Monteverde.

Turn right at the orange kiosk and begin your descent into the San Luis Valley. Drive over the Rio San Luis, past the village of San Luis, continuing toward the head of the valley, past the cemetery, and climbing until you reach a small, blue schoolhouse on your right, the Alto San Luis school (fenced with a chain-link fence).

Turn right at the Alto San Luis school, and continue around 700 m until you see the buildings of Ecolodge San Luis & Biological Station on your left.
