No you are not in the Alps. this is the beautiful Swiss chalet-style Hotel Belmar in Monteverde Cloud Forest in Cosa Rica. Set on the top of a grassy hill, Hotel Belmar has striking views of the Nicoya Gulf and the Pacific. 
     Afternoons in the dining room or lounge are idyllic, with bright sunlight streaming in through a west-facing glass wall. The sunsets over the Nicoya are fabulous! Most of the guest rooms are fitted with wood paneling, French doors, and little balconies that open onto magnificent views. There are two buildings on the property. The main building and the "Chalet" (this building is a bit smaller). The restaurant serves a blend of well-prepared Tico and international cuisine. The Belmar Hotel is up a dirt road that passes to the left of the gas station as you come enter the village of Monteverde located in Costa Rica.
