Although only 51,060 square kilometers in size, this friendly
Central American country is divided by three mountain ranges,
resulting in four different climate zones - all quickly and easily
accessible. Costa Rica offers many things to many people for you
vacation package.
The capital city of San Jose is located in the Central Valley and inhabited by more than half of the country's 3.2 million people.
The democratic government it's a model for other Latin American countries. In 1948m the army was abolished by a new constitution, and more 27 percent of the national budget is allotted for culture and education, resulting in a literacy rate that rivals most industrialized nations. Costa Rica is a leader in establishing national parks and reserves. More than 622,000 hectares of irreplaceable rainforest, dry tropical forest, cloud forest, islands, volcanoes, hot springs, rivers, beaches, waterfalls, caves, wet-lands, and sites of historic or archeological importance, are currently protected - approximately 27 percent of the country.
These areas shelter an incredible number of wildlife species: 205 mammals, 845 birds, 160 amphibians, 218 reptiles, 1,013fish, and close to 10,000 plants species.
Costa Rica's Pacific and Caribbean coasts measure about 1,250 kilometers and consist mainly of pristine beaches. On a clear day you can see both coasts from some vantage points.
Costa Ricans, or "Ticos" as they're known here, are pleasant, hospitable, mainly Spanish -Speaking people who when asked will proudly describe in detail any of the feature of the country. It's not surprising when you consider all there is to enjoy here. Costa Rica is ..city, mountains, beaches, adventure, and much more.
